About Design Flex
Design Flex is the new generation of our kitchen and design application. Design Flex has all the functionality of 2020 Design Live but also has access to configurable cabinet and appliance catalogs via Cloud. Design Flex also provides access to the improved rendering engine EZ Render. It also includes Closet and AIM (Application Integration Module).
There are two editions:
- Design Flex, which provides access to manufacturer configurable catalogs (including cabinets) in Cloud, plus Closet and AIM (Application Integration Module).
- Design Flex Foundation, which provides access to generic configurable catalogs (including cabinets) in Cloud.
Design Flex is replacing 2020 Design Live. We will progressively discontinue 2020 Design Live in the near future. Looking forward, manufacturers are migrating their catalogs to Cloud and these catalogs will be of higher quality and always up to date. Eventually, the file-based catalogs will become out of date.

About Design Flex content
With Design Flex Foundation, you will have access to the updated and enhanced generic cabinetry, generic appliance and plumbing catalogs.
With Design Flex, you can benefit from a large selection of manufacturer cabinetry, brand-specific appliance, and sink and faucet catalogs. The amount of catalogs will increase over time as more manufacturers publish their content on Cloud. In addition, our updated and enhanced generic cabinetry, generic appliance, sink and faucet catalogs are also available to you.
Yes, you will continue to have access whether you are on Design Flex or Design Flex Foundation.

Migration information
All customers with an active 2020 Design maintenance and support contract are invited to migrate to a Design Flex subscription or Design Flex Foundation subscription (for customers with 2020 Design Essentials).
Yes, you can migrate all your licenses and subscriptions to Design Flex or Design Flex Foundation (for customers with 2020 Design Essentials). All licenses and subscriptions under one account must be migrated at the same time.
Yes, 2020 Design Complete subscription customers are able to migrate their subscription license to the Design Flex subscription. Migrating is at no charge and renewal is at list price.
Customers who were initially on an active 2020 Design Premium subscription or 2020 Design Essentials subscription have been automatically migrated to Design Flex and Design Flex Foundation, respectively. Customers with other versions of 2020 Design (such as Complete, Select) are offered to migrate their existing licenses or subscriptions at a special price.
Design Flex will be accessible upon completion of the migrate.
To migrate to Design Flex, visit the migrate to Design Flex page and follow the steps indicated to complete your request.
Yes, you will still have access.
No, your renewal date for your yearly subscriptions will stay the same.
Cost to migrate
If you have an active 2020 Design maintenance and support contract or an active 2020 Design subscription, you can migrate at no cost.
No, the migrate offer does not apply to customers with inactive maintenance and support contracts. However, for a limited time, customers can trade in their off-support licenses for a one time discount. Please contact your sales representative for more information (sales@2020spaces.com or 1-866-698-2020).
Customers who migrated their licenses to subscription will keep a permanent discount vs. the Design Flex Subscription List price.
If you have a 2020 Design Essentials perpetual license with an active maintenance and support contract, you can migrate to Design Flex Foundation, at no cost.
If you have a 2020 Design Essentials subscription, you have been automatically migrated to Design Flex Foundation.

Policies on migrating
No, all licenses and subscriptions under one account must be migrated at the same time.
Yes, you can convert a USB dongle key to a soft-key subscription. It is not possible to convert a USB dongle perpetual to a soft-key perpetual license.
If you are an existing 2020 customer, and migrating from a perpetual USB key(s) license to a new 2020 Subscription, you must deactivate your USB key(s). 2020 will provide you all details by email once migrated.
Additional licenses
Yes.
No, additional subscriptions must be purchased at list price. This migrate offer is only valid when migrating your existing licenses with an active maintenance and support contract or an active subscription.
No, but you can add subscription licenses of Design Flex or Design Flex Foundation.
