Chris SetlockParticipantAny word on when we can expect a patch? The custom texture bug in 11.5.1 is causing me some serious issues. I need to render custom textures properly to sell the job I’m working on. I really regret installing this latest upgrade.
Please advise.

ParticipantThis is a question. I am currently in the process of downloading the newest update, I am on V11.2, I am finding bugs in it that causes my open designs to lockup and crash, and having issues with the program opening at times. I was hoping this update would patch those bugs, would you recommend me waiting, would rather struggle with what I have then to get something worse.

Neil WilsonParticipantHi Guys,
The super dark user defined textures is an issue in v11.5.1. They are aware of it and working to resolve it but I do not have any kind of timetable as to when it will be resolved.

ParticipantLiterally 95% of the time when I try to simply print a rendering in 11.5, my 2020 “stops working” and then ultimately crashes. Larry, do you know where can we find 11.3.0.97? I checked 2020.net and didn’t see it there.
Very disappointed in v11.5. This makes the infamously terrible 11.4 seem like a dream!

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProNo idea about 11.3 as I don’t have thge filename to check but you can get:
https://cdn.2020spaces.com/support/Design/V11/Versions/11.4.1.31-Both.exe
or
https://cdn.2020spaces.com/support/Design/V11/Versions/11.2.0.60-Both.exe
I’ve reverted back to the V11.4 and having a lot less trouble

ParticipantGood luck waiting for your fix. They actually need to know what they are doing first. I was just on support with someone that told me my 2020 kept crashing because I had no graphic card. Really? Then what the heck is this Intel HD graphics I have on my computer. He hung up on me (so to speak). He disconnected from my computer and went away ….. I went in and ran my troubleshooter and it fixed the driver issue.
I have to say that I really am not a “computer person” and was lucky that I figured this out myself. My point is, if they can take control of my computer and look through it and tell me there is no graphics card when I do they have even bigger issues. I told them I had one and that 2020 was working fine for the past 3 months this was all of a sudden. His answer to that was I have been lucky all these months. Really??
Good Luck !

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProThe Intel HD graphics card is effectively part of the processor structure and not a seperate graphics system. 2020 recommends having a dedicated graphics chip/card with 2GB or more of RAM on it. This is what they meant when they said you didn’t have a graphics card – they meant you did not have a DEDICATED graphics card.
A notebook or desktop with dedicated NVidia or Radeon graphics card will render faster than the Intel HD one. I prefer the NVidia (although my Toshiba has a Radeon) as the NVidia seems to be the faster of the two.
tl:dr you do not have a dedicated graphics card so your system is not rendering as fast as systems that have one.

ParticipantAlso waiting for this 11.5.2 release … heard August 5th, today? Hope this release will get us back to using our custom textures?

Neil WilsonParticipantHey Richard,
Unfortunately the 11.5.2 release has been pushed back to not before the 12th. They are working to resolve an urgent issue with catalogs before releasing the build.

ParticipantThanks Neil for the info. on the release hold up!
Say … can you tell us what the urgent issue is with catalogs and this 11.5.1 release?

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProSpeaking for myself, I’d rather have it right than have it on-time. Both would be nice but better to have a robust, relatively bug free version after waiting a bit longer.

Neil WilsonParticipantHi Richard,
I believe it is something about adjusting cabinet sizes through add-ons but I’m kind of out of that loop.

ParticipantAny one else having issues with 11.5.1.4 crashing with C++ errors when using the Insert Item feature from the ribbon? Spoke with support and they informed me that it was a bug and has been reported. Work around is to use the items from Drag & Drop Room_ catalogs. But my Designers are getting a bit frustrated when they forget , and crash . Several designs were wiped out and needed to be opened from the .bak files.

ParticipantAnybody Seen a problem with 11.5.1 or 11.5.2 where a new catalog uploaded is giving an XML error in Report Manager (Quote) saying “No cabinet content”? so frustrating. I know it installed correctly, and the file contents ‘look’ ok ‘to me’. I will have to get on the horn with 2020 Support but I would have thought someone would have posted something somewhere.

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProEric, I kind of saw this happen once before where we had cabinets from 2 different catalogs in a drawing and Report manager would list only the cabinets from 1 catalogue. Try dropping in a cabinet from ANY different catalogue and see if you get the same message.
