      Thanks in advance!!!!

Anyone have any tips for creating a Domed Ceiling or a Cathedral ceiling?

For the domed ceiling I have tried the Underground catalog’s Barrel Vaulted ceiling and that works alright for a rounded ceiling but my salesman would like a circular dome in the middle of a room and I just can’t figure that one out.

I have done cathedral ceilings before, but it becomes a problem when I have 2 rooms sharing a wall and only 1 side is a cathedral. Without creating a 2nd wall for the non-cathedral room I get all sorts of craziness with the ceiling.

Creating a 2nd wall leads to it’s own set of problems with measurements and corners, so I like to avoid that if I can.

Chris – Since you have the Underground catalog, try using BOWL.02.  Make it 144″w and 24″h (or as needed).  Then click on Variables, Angle, and set Angle Z to 180.  There’s an example HERE.

Another quick way to draw cathedral ceilings is to keep your walls high (or set your ceiling texture as transparent) and use TRIANGLE-R.F resized as needed and floated into place.

      Kevin,

Thanks! I will try that for the dome ceiling. I have only been working with 2020 for about 12 weeks and I haven’t really had the time to delve deeply.

I’m going to take some time and look more at your website as well.

Where’s this underground catalogue? The newest versions of 2020 do not have decorative items list anymore and I cannot create vaulted ceilings without the wall/ceiling options. I can only find wall options. Does the underground catalogue create this?
