  Adding an “opening”, specifically a Cut-Out.
  
  I set the height, I set the “up-down”…..means absolutely nothing.
  
  For instance, all I want to do is add a rectangular Cut-Out @ 82″H, Up-Down @ “0”. What does it do? places it @ 12″H with an up-down of 39″.
  
  This has been going on for years, and never a fix.

  It is annoying – agreed. For that application, I would use a doorway with no frame (under interior doors). Then it automatically drops at the floor.
  
  But you’re right, the up/down control that appears right at the beginning is presumably there so you can control that prior to dropping – and you always have to adjust after. Weird.
