VR Solution: Hardware & Software Recommendations
This webpage details the hardware and software requirements considered suitable for running the 2020 Fusion Live VR solution on Windows-based desktop PCs. Only those areas that differ from our standard hardware recommendations are detailed in full.
Please note that all guidance is subject to regular review and potential change by 20-20 Technologies Ltd in full accordance with the lifecycle policy for the 2020 Fusion Live application.
General: A desktop class PC
Graphics: Nvidia RTX 2070 or GTX 1080 or higher, with at least 8GB of dedicated graphics card memory.
Note: Use of multiple graphics cards will give no additional benefit.
VR Headset:
HTC Vive Cosmos - supported both with/without the use of a wireless adaptor.
• Recommended resolution scaling 58% using the minimum recommended graphic cards.
HTC Vive (no longer generally sold) - supported both with/without the use of a wireless adaptor.
• Recommended resolution scaling 150% using the minimum recommended graphic cards.
Windows Mixed Reality Compatible Headset (An HP headset is considered suitable using the minimum recommended graphics cards; other headsets may require better graphics cards)
Note: All other headsets are NOT supported (including Oculus)
Ports:
The HTC Vive Cosmos Headset connects using a Display port and USB3 (in wired mode).
The HTC Vive and the Mixed Reality headsets connect using HDMI 2.0 and USB3.
Controllers: Bluetooth for controllers
Other Software: Steam and Steam VR (For HTC Vive and HTC Vive Cosmos Headsets Only)
