When I’m in your situation I have two options.
1. Click file > new. Once you have a new fresh file open, click file > insert 2020 file, and select the file that is corrupt. If it works, then save it.
2. When you save a 2020 design, you may have noticed that it makes two files. One is a .kit, and one is a .bak. The .bak is a backup file. Click file > open and try opening that file instead of the .kit.
