Erik TornquistParticipantAnyone know why it’s taking so long to download catalogs on 2020.net? I realize it’s always been a slow server just getting there but trying to download catalogs is taking hours. The latest one I’m trying is the updated GE, with download speeds of 37 KB/Sec, which is a very small amount of data per second. I’m not having any issues with other sites and average 55mb-70mb/sec for downloads (20-30mb/sec upload).
Any others experiencing it?

ParticipantHi Erik,
Indeed there does seem to be something wrong with the site today as it does not normally download at such lighting slow speeds!
We are aware of this issue now and are working to get it back to normal. Thanks for letting us know 🙂

Ariana ThompsonParticipantI’m finding my internet connection itself is very slow.
Lots of people at home watching Netflix and e-learning, I imagine.

Erik TornquistParticipantcertainly not the issue on my end, I’m not having any download/upload issues anywhere else, particularly streaming HD (which requires much higher download sizes per second than getting on 2020.net). And from what Kris replied, there seemed to have been an issue on their end and from what I can tell is getting better although still not great (averaging 211kb/sec now compared to 36-38kb/sec yesterday).
I compared it to a cabinet spec manual on one of my cabinet providers which downloaded in a few seconds @ around 4-5mb/sec. I checked Steam, the gaming platform, and started a download on a game (Metal gear solid V, just fyi) i had deleted a while ago to test network speeds which for download were around 9mb/sec. So as you can see, this is not an issue here.

Ariana ThompsonParticipantAh… sounds like I don’t have the skookum connection you do – probably as I’m in a small town.

Erik TornquistParticipantHey Kris. Wanted to ask you about this issue again. Downloading v12 was fine, downloaded around 8-10mb/sec but again, the manufacturer catalogs are still running around 65-75kb/sec, which is really slow.
Any idea why this is?

ParticipantHi Erik,
We have a plan to migrate to a new server, however in the meantime we have shared a direct download link within the description of most catalogs. Using this link will allow you for a faster download. If there are any catalogs you may require that do not have the direct download link then please email us at residentialsupport@2020spaces.com and we will create the link for the catalog.

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProI’ve always been of the opinion that torrents are the best way to go for downloads. Distributed storage and bdandwidth makes for very fast downloads if enough people are using them.
