Has anyone else had an issue with their render window (Le Rendu window) crashing on certain designs? I have found the only way to fix it is to copy the entire design into a new window, which is of course a pain. Does anyone have a quicker fix?

Although it doesn’t happen to every design, it has now happened to me twice. Once, I was able to render the next day with no problems. This latest instance, I had my computer off over the weekend and came in today, Monday, and still wasn’t able to render until copying to a new document. My coworkers have had sporadic problems as well with some being able to render 20 minutes later.

We also tried the rendering that was not rendering on our computers on other computers in the office with no success. So, it seems to have something to do with that particular render/file and not the computer/amount of memory we’re using. However, that begs the question of why sometimes we can let the computer cool down and it will render it while other times when we try that it does not work.

      Hi Kirstyn,

It is a possibility that the file has been corrupted in some way. Its also possible that the issue was a specific item in the design that causes the file not to render. If there were some cloud items from v11 in the file when trying to render then remove them and add them back from v12 and see if that solves the issue (there could be synchronization issues).

It also could be the machine itself, maybe the drivers need to be updated. You could give us a call at 1.866.697.2020 to have an agent take a look around the machine to find what exactly the issue could be.

      Hi Kris!

Both files that we were using were created specifically in version 12 so, unless there are still version 11 cloud items on the cloud currently, that would not have been it. (The one it most recently happened on had no Cloud items in it, but did have a SketchUp item.)

In terms of the drivers I can definitely check that out, but I’m pretty sure we’re all updated.

Also as I said we did try it on multiple machines and it didn’t work on either. The machines are different and their specs are different, but in general they’re both running i7’s, 16G RAM and good graphics cards. (The specs for mine specifically is as follows:
      i7-7700K @ 4.2GHz
      16G RAM
      Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
      Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit)

I will call you if I find the time. Maybe the next time it decides not to render!

      Hi Kirstyn,

With specs like that, I wouldnt think it to be the the machine. That Sketchup item could play a part in the design not working correctly. I would suggest to remove the sketchup item to see if the design would then render.

Give us a call whenever you need 🙂

      Kris
