ParticipantSo, after a lot of research I am still not sure what the best hardware is to run 2020. For clarity, I am a power user. I frequently design $100K kitchens complete with coffered ceilings, SubZero/Wolf/Thermador appliances and flush them in. I use doubel or triple stack top moldings, Cambria designs for my tops.
I have found that when I use the applieances from the cloud my FP and ELE start to bog down. My settings have the FP and ELE utilizing the 3d feature as well. I like to see the door details.
I am currently running an i9-9900, 3070 and 64 GB ram as well as a 1tb Nvme SSD in the M.2 slot. I am very fruystrated with the jittery movement in the FP and ELE while i have 3d hidden lines open and or appliances from the cloud in the design.
I have noticed the cloud appliances tax the design quite a bit and if I unselect Show 3D in FP and ELE I can get better performance.
BUT! I want my cake and I want to eat it too…..my PC is currently 7ish years old and I am due for a refresh……
SO, what hardware would you choose with a high budget $4k
Is the Quadro card going to be any significant improvement over a 5080 or 5090?
Would you use i9-14900KS over a 9850X3d? and Why?
How much RAM would you want? Mind you I also have Acrobat, Chrome, Excel, Outlook and carious other programs all running at the same time, as well as 2 27″ 4k monitors.
Please only chime in you have detailed, expertise in the arena of Vram, Cache, PCIe lanes and speeds in regards to 2020 and what it the program uses.
Thank you !
