File bloat, out of memory error.

      Hi Gang,

      I’ve been getting the “out of memory” error a lot recently.  I havent seen that annoyance for a while, but now it’s happening regularly.

      It seems to be caused by cloud items.  My design file had bloated to about 200mb when it became unstable.  I copied and pasted it into a new file, and it dropped to 47MB.  I deleted all cloud items, the copied and pasted again, and it dropped to 1.3MB.

      Adding back my own custom textures only took it to 23MB, but once I started re-adding cloud items, it began swelling again.

      Anyway, wondering if anyone has suggestions besides just not dressing up spaces.  Also, is there any word on when we’ll see V12?  I’m hoping the switch to 64bits will improve memory and graphic issues.  Also, will we be able to remove unused textures from design files?  That seems to be causing a lot of the bloat.

      Hello Chris,

      Thank you for this.

      I have some good news! Since V12 is based on a 64 bit architecture it will address most issues related to memory. Moreover, V12 is just around the corner and expected to hit the market in the upcoming weeks (targeting before the end of this month).

      We have not addressed the deletion of unused texture yet, but this is a hot ticket item for an upcoming release. Stay tuned! ; )
