I just started a job with a new company and need to learn 2020 design for room/cabinet layout. I would like to use a laser to measure rooms and import the data. Is this possible?

You can import .dxf files. I do it that way from time to time.

File,Import, From Local Storage (FileType).dxf

Keep in mind this is only going to import a 2d line. Then you can simply draw your walls and trace your lines.

I have a builder using lasers to import to MagicPlan.

Then shares a login with  me to import files to design from.  I am trying to dedicate time to use MagicPlan (phone app) on some of my simple measures for time savings.
