ParticipantReally wish Cyncly would do something about this lighting issue. I was using software 20 years ago that had no problems with this. The render quality is horrible with Design Flex. And they force you to draw multiple rooms on 1 page, so the further out from center you get, the worse the lighting gets. Then they give you no way to fix it. The light fixtures from the cloud don’t add light. The lighting wizard doesn’t always work well either. It’s just garbage. I’m about to ditch this program. So frustrating.

ParticipantHi Dan,
Do you have the Underground catalog? I use Underground >> Decorative Items >> Lighting >> Invisible (for lighting effects) >> INV-LT880. Then when it’s on the floor plan right click and go to Light Properties. Change intensity to 120 watts. You can use as many as you need as they don’t show up in the perspectives and you can hide them on the floor plan.
Another thing that I do if I have open areas without walls is to draw walls around the entire design. It keeps the light in.
I hope this helps.

Ariana ThompsonParticipantI found that the renders rely HEAVILY on windows in the room for the light. So I have a “blank” design with a HUUUUGE 3-sided room with a giant window on each wall saved on the floorplan. When I want to start a design, I open that, rename it, and put the walls for my kitchen inside that giant room. Works well.
I’ve attached a view of the “blank”, az view of one of my designs inside the blank, and a render. The render is using NO ADDED LIGHTS. Just the ambient light from the windows.

ParticipantHi Cheryl, I’m learning the cloud catalog but was unable to find anything called underground when I searched. Where should I go for the underground catalog?

ParticipantMastering lighting in renders makes all the difference. I focus image clipping service on balancing key, fill, and rim lights to create depth and realism. Adjusting intensity, color temperature, and shadows enhances the mood. Good lighting transforms a basic render into a stunning, lifelike scene that truly captures attention.
