ParticipantCan someone please tell me how to get rooms that have different floor levels and level ceilings? I have an enclosed garage that steps down 30″ from the original interior floor . I can’t find the method Mike suggested that is Neil’s explanation.
Thank you

ParticipantHi Ramona,
When working with Design, you have to know that the ceiling and floor are auto-generated. So the first step to making a level lower or higher would be to turn off the ceiling and floor (this can be done by opening a perspective, going to Textures/Display Settings and uncheck “visual”). At this point you would use a Surface as your ceiling or floor, while leaving enough space for a staircase going up or down. For your bottom floor or enclosed garage, you would use the surface as the flooring (working with negative up/down) and use user shapes to create walls.
See attached file for example.

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProHi Kristopher,
Is it planned to give 2020 a multiple floor height option? A simple layer system would allow this to work. I have suggested that a layer system is built in before as it greatly increases the capability of Design. -

Santiago Morales2020 ExpertHello Mike,
I remember having a discussion regarding a layer mechanism. Can you further detail as to how the layers could help in a multiple floor height configuration?
Thank you,
Santiago
