I went from version 9 to 11 this past week and I have pretty much found were everything is and learning new tricks, however my drag and drop, information, and placement boxes have become ungrouped on the left side and are now individuals and they don’t group back together as in version 9 can someone explain how to get this back?

I am also having lighting problems that I didn’t have in 9. All my renders are darker than I like, even when I have recessed spots in the drawing. Ive turned them up, and add design assistants and my white cabinets look gray?? I use lighting wizard and still dark??

It is very easy in V11 for the Info and Placement boxes to become ‘undocked’. You should be able to grab them and start moving them into place until you see some blue ‘placement’ options appear (see attachment) – move the box onto one of the placement options (try the top or bottom one) and your box will re-dock in that position – it takes a couple of goes and a bit of playing but it should happen.

Worst case, run the registry reset option in Tools/Maintenance Tools and reset thing to the way you want them then use a utility I posted a little while back to save the registry settings so that you can easily get things back.

I’ve recorded 2 videos that might be of help. The first is an example of the above and the second is an example of using the Registry Settings Saver that I posted about a week ago.

The videos are in webm format which can be played by most video players – I use VLC which is excellent and free.

And here is the link to the Registry Settings Saver. Save, copy to your desktop and run. It will create a file on your desktop called V112020Registry.reg. If you ever lose a 2020 toolbar or whatever, simply quit from 2020, double click the saved file and follow the prompts and your 2020 should open up the way it was when you saved the registry file.
