Sometimes Cup Pulls are upside down? Is there a trick?

      Hey gang,

On some of my designs, cup pulls are upside down –  regardless of whether I use the default 2020 drawer pull style#30, or a catalogue pull like Hickory Hardware. As soon as I attach them to a cabinet, they’re upside down.

Then for some designs, they’re not. Any fix?  Any idea what causes this to occasionally happen?

      Cheers,

      Ariana

      Hi Ariana,

I have never seen handles being flipped upside down on cabinetry before. Is this happening with a specific catalog or specific manufacturer? Can this be reproduced with the Sample catalog? If you go to a design that is being affected by this issue and add a base cabinet from Sample_E/F and apply the same drawer pull, is the pull added upside down? What happens if you try copy/pasting the drawing, does this help correct the issue?

      Regards,

      Kris

      Hi Kris,

So far it seems to be one cabinetry company’s cabinets. My other supplier’s 2020catalogue doesn’t do this to me, but when I use my WC cabinets – both the 2020 default cup pulls and the Hickory Hardware cup pulls mount upside down.

If I put a sample_e cabinet in the same design – the cup pulls on that are fine.

Now, when I use EDGE pulls on the WC cabinets, I sometimes have to switch the pull thickness to a negative number to get them to curve up instead of down (when I put edge pulls on wall cabinet doors), but the negative number trick didn’t work with the cup pulls. It flipped them so they were inside the cabinet instead.

Sounds like it’s a problem with the WC catalogue programmers?

      Gah!

      Hi Ariana,

Unfortunately it does sound like it is an issue with the catalog itself.. Is this the first time using this particular catalog? Is there perhaps a new updated version of the catalog available to use?

      Regards,

      Kris

      Hi Kris,

No – this is one of our long time suppliers. Looks like a flaw in their latest catalogue release.  I was really hoping you’d say,
“Oh! The old upside down cabinet pull thing! Just do this…..!”

      But alas….

      Many thanks all the same,

      Ariana
