ParticipantI am running 2020 Design version 11 and I am wondering how I would get my status bar/toolbar back in the bottom right hand corner. This toolbar controls the drawing control and document element (in out/up down, area snap, item snap, collusion, ortho, link, show/hide camera)
It disappeared on me and I am wondering how to get it back.
Thanks,
Taryn -

Neil WilsonParticipantHi Taryn,
If the orange bar is still there you can right click on the bar and select drawing control and the icons will reappear. If the entire bar is gone you need to close 2020 Design and go to the Maintenance Tools and select 2020 Design Registry Reset. That will return the software to its default settings and the bar will come back.

ParticipantI have the same problem. I am at a new company and using V10. Will that reset all the defaults? I only want the tool bar back and maybe fix the docking. I like all the other defaults that have been set up, like the dimensions, text style etc…I don’t want to mess that up to get this tool bar back.
Anyone know this?

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProUnfortunately, if it’s gone then a registry reset is the only option. You shouldn’t lose dimension settings as these are controlled by the display schemas which aren’t touched by a registry reset.
You will lose all your preferences so before you do the registry reset, why not go through each preference screen, capture them using the Snipping Tool and print them out?

ParticipantGreat idea to screen print pref. I was able to update it by right clicking in the bottom below work area. Two boxes came up and I check marked them.

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProLearn something every day! That icon fix works – many thanks!
In the past I always did the registry reset but that is so much easier. For the rest of you it is right click in the bottom orange bar where the icons were and NOT the tab area.

Mike LangensiepenPilot ProThis is a previous answer from Neil:
“It sounds like the design info screen is coming up behind the other windows. To fix it all you need to do is go into your Maintenance tools and select 2020 Design Registry Reset. That should fix it but be aware that it sets the program back to its default settings so any changes you made to things like preferences, the quick bar and sorting of catalogs will have to be redone.”The alternative is to connect a second screen again and then move the ‘missing’ window back onto your laptop screen then disconnecting the second screen. This will accomplish the same thing but without the hassle of a registry reset.
I also recommend downloading my free ‘Settings Saver’ script so if you have to do a registry reset at any point, you can get your settings back quickly. You run the script once 2020 Design is in a perfect working condition.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zb7tjqgbotx5rp8/V112020SettingsSaver.cmd?dl=0
Save to your desktop, run and then choose B for Backup and answer Y to the next 2 questions – it’s pretty self explanatory. The script is in use with most of my (30+ Designers) and they have yet to have an issue with it but use at your own risk.

ParticipantRegistry reset worked great. Right clicking and re adding the buttons worked but they did not function. I also had an issue with all my designs printing on a yellow background. Really uglied them up. But resetting the registry fixed this issue too. Thanks so much for this.
