A majority of our 2020 users have workstation class notebooks today. The GPUs in these workstations are NVIDIA Quadro series and range from M1000M to P500 and even some older models. Our users have been issued Lenovo computers like the W550s, P50, P52s as a point of reference.

In the opinion of the community, are we cheaping out when it comes to hardware? Portability is a factor and of course there’s always a (tight) budget, but should we be considering more heavy-duty GPUs when it comes to selecting new systems?

      Hi Brian,

The M1000M and the P500 aren’t the best card to have unfortunately. We recommend to have a graphics card such as the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080. Click here to see our system requirements.

As for the Lenovo computers, from what I saw online the best one to go for would be the P52s. If you get those machines with the requirements we offer, you would be fine!
