Hello

I have 11.11.3 installed now and its working better than ever sine that last hotfix, and i am reluctant to install this new version (11.12.0.31-Both.exe) since ive had some issues in the past when installing new versions.

What is the recommended way to install any new versions of 2020 design?

* Can it be installed over top of the current version 11.11.3?

* Should I uninstall the currently installed version 11.11.3 completely and then install the new version?

All recommendations/suggestions are welcome

Hi Robert,

The best way to update 2020 is to do a complete uninstall, reboot the computer and then install the new version and reinstall your catalogs.

Many users have a bunch of catalogs or catalogs with rates in them so they don’t want to uninstall their catalogs.  If that’s the case then do a basic uninstall of the software and when you install the new version it should see  your old catalogs and include them in the new version.

Finally you can just install on top and it should keep your catalogs but this method is more likely to cause issues later on and if you installed the last update over the previous update etc… you become increasingly more likely to have issues with the program as you are more likely to end up with outdated “artifacts” from older versions.

I was a little impatient and I went ahead and installed the new version without doing the basic uninstall as you suggested, so far so good.
