Countertop Defaults

Is there any way to change the countertop default settings?  The 2020 default texture is this ugly, black, slate looking material and I’m tired of changing it on every drawing.

Also, is there a way to change the default overhang?  It currently draws at 1″, but it’s almost always 1 1/2″ overhang in real life.

I know some of this can be done through countertop wizard, but I hate that thing.  It’s a pain.

      Hi Dan,

There is unfortunately currently no way to change the default settings for the countertop colours or depth.

You are not the first person to mention this to us though (and I’m sure you won’t be the last 🙂 ) and it is certainly a feature request we can consider for a future release of the software.

      Hi Neil,
This is another example of where a room wizard option would be ideal. I have something built into my catalogues which allows you to drop a single item into a room and it sets up the room and cabinetry heights. textures etc. It displays numerous options which are all changeable such as tall unit finish height etc and then the unit heights are all calculated from there.

If I was able to get some support on the html side of a catalogue, I could get it to save/change/load 3 sets of optional room settings. The html code is already written but for some reason, I can’t get it to work once the html screen is launched in 2020.

      Hey Mike,

Stuff like that is well above my pay grade but I’ll point Santiago to the post.  He is always looking for ways to improve the software.

What I don’t understand is that in the preferences, under countertops and trims, you can set the default overhang for finished ends but not the front overhang.  It would be awesome to just have an extra box there to change that setting and the default material.
