Yes – I also store my “tweaked” stuff in a kit file.
I find that custom textures get lost when you put something in the Idea Centre.
Also – if you really liked something from V9 (like my fave: the tray of artichokes!), you can open a copy of the kitchen in V11 – and copy/paste the old item to a new kit file – but if you put it in the Idea Centre, it will never come out again! LOL!
I’ve created a lot of “custom” plants, light fixtures, etc from hacking and combining existing Cloud or “old” catalogue items – live-edge wood counters, etc – but they turn concrete grey if I put them in Idea Centre.
Kit files. Big fan.
SketchUp items are not modifiable once you hit SAVE on the kit file – so I make as many copies as I can – in every colour I think I will ever want before I save! LOL!
If Idea Centre “held” mods better, I would use it more.
