Just popping on here to second the motion that it would be WONDERFUL if we could drop in windows and doors as per rough openings (without casing), including the up/down.
We could then click a button to include the casing (for our design work) – but chose either/or for printing dims. Homeowners that are doing their own install in an existing space with existing casings would want dims that SHOW casings, while contractors don’t.
So even if we had the option to have rough opening in one TAB and dims with casing sin another?
For design work itself – I just got a blueprint for a new project. The windows are ALL different sizes. One window is listed as 48×42, I have to enter it as 54×48 to account for standard 3″casing. The TOP of the window is noted as 7′ off the floor. So 84″, minus 48″high window gives me an up/down – BUT that’s with the bottom casing. So I then have to take off 3″ to get the bottom of the rough opening.
Gah.
Anything you guys can do to make that easier is great appreciated.
