As a design-build firm, I am constantly striving to provide the best service I can to my clients. 2020 Design Live helps us be our best right up front!
Background
King Contracting is a design-build remodelling business that specializes in high-end, whole house remodels, room additions and outdoor living projects. It is owned by Doug King, state-certified general contractor and EPA-certified renovator with over 25 years’ experience in production management, product development, and sales for multiple industries.
Doug King is also chairman of the board at the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), a medium for business development, a platform for advocacy, and the principal source for industry intelligence. NARI connects homeowners with its professional members and provides tips and tricks so that consumers have a positive remodeling experience with a qualified remodeler.
Challenges and objectives
The communication needed to get an accurate design and select the right cabinets that fit into an area is crucial during the design and development process. Having that third-party layer made the entire design process too difficult and clients would become frustrated during what was supposed to be the “fun stage.”
Doug King had a goal to build a showroom and knew he had to have his own software readily available.
Impress prospects.
Close more sales.
Improve workflow.
Solution
King Contracting decided to adopt and implement 2020 Design Live, a kitchen and bathroom design software that provides photorealistic renderings of designed spaces. Having a software that enabled them to show their clients what their remodeled space would look like gave them an advantage over other companies that did not offer that service.
“Being able to show clients their kitchen and/or baths in 3D renderings, perspective and isometric views is key to signing on clients,” says Doug King. “2020 Design Live provides my company with the ability to create awesome designs, and more importantly, be able to share those designs with my homeowners in a way they can understand and visualize their dream kitchen or bathroom.”
When King Contracting first opened their showroom, having 2020 Design Live enabled them to bring their clients into their conference room and make quick changes with the program on a large monitor that clearly showed them their dream kitchen or bath, which led to closing more sales.
