Interior Designers are expected to  know basic design-related things: color trends, function and use of furnishings, ADA rules, pricing, etc..  But, add to that list the following: how workspace effects health, mental engagement in a workplace, how surroundings effect blood pressure.  Interior Designers are expected to know more and do more than ever before.  Interior Designer/Anthropologist might be a more appropriate title in a few years.  Read this article for more views on how interior designers are expected to do more: http://www.metropolismag.com/Point-of-View/October-2015/Staples-article/
