We’re getting a lot more unique projects over the last few years than we ever have, because we’ve been able to easily show customers what is possible in kitchen design to give them something different they will love.
Professional design software provides a pathway to success
G.W. Smith Kitchen Studio was able to overcome challenges, expand their business, and reach new markets with 2020 Design Live.
G.W. Smith serves homeowners and contractors in the North Carolina triad area supplying kitchen and bath design, cabinetry, countertops, and hardware. They work to provide a unique and personal experience to all their clients, to meet their needs and create beautiful spaces.
G.W. Smith began in 1905 as a lumber company, serving contractors with building materials in the NC Triad. In 2016, they wanted to start reaching a broader market and set the distinction that G.W. Smith Lumber Company was more than just a lumber company, and that their kitchen design studio was open to the public to make their kitchen and bath dreams a reality. They had been hearing from a lot of customers that they had driven past our store for years and had no idea the company served more than just contractors.
After a full overhaul of the company website, adding social media accounts, and improving photography to better show off projects, G.W. Smith Kitchen Studio still wanted more ways to connect with customers and give them a full experience to visualize their project before even breaking ground.

2020 Design Live allows businesses to reach new heights
Most people who aren’t already in the construction industry have a hard time visualizing what their project would look like based off of a line drawing. Once 2020 Design Live was implemented as a part of their business arsenal, the Kitchen Studio reached a new level of success. Being able to add the exact tile the customers loved and decorative items like coffee pots and cutting boards allowed the studio to let the clients fall in love with the vision for their space, get more emotion and excitement in the project and drive the sale on their end.
Especially with the times lately, clients are being more cautious about where they spend their money. So being able to show them that a small remodel could completely change their home helped close deals and gave the client a product to really get excited about. The ability to show realistic colored renderings on the company website and social media platforms now shows what the Kitchen Studio is capable of and increased their client base.
The company has even been able to connect with realtors, to work with potential buyers and show what a current kitchen could look like after a remodel, to help sell a house based on the vision. The Kitchen Studio has been working with flippers for years using this same concept.
