One of the easiest ways to introduce nature into offices and homes is by adding plants wherever possible. Plants have many benefits and they’re a great source of oxygen. By purifying the air, they improve our concentration and our general mental state.
Natural light is the life source of any space. Sure, artificial lighting can make up for a lack of natural sunlight, but it is certainly not optimal. Including large windows that let in ample sunlight and that give people a view of the outdoors will impact overall well-being and energy levels.
Designing a workspace or home with materials such as wood and stone are a great way to mimic the outdoors. Wood and stone are everywhere in nature and using these materials will give the occupants of a space the feeling of being closer to nature.
If the company you are designing for has available outdoor space, you should include seating or even outdoor work areas to encourage employees to spend a little more time outside. Same goes for home design: utilizing as much outdoor space as possible will encourage people to spend more time in nature.
